My entry for the Mutation Nation challenge over at Art Order. I decided to combine jellyfish and locusts, I thought their swarming behavior combined with the jellyfish's poison nematocysts would make for a particularly vexing plague beast. I went with the color palette I did because I thought it fit with the post apocalyptic irradiated setting. I just couldn't stop thinking of the Toxic Avenger while working on it.

Here is something I'm currently working on. I will update this as it progresses. It's a depiction of the Yggdrasil tree of Norse mythology. The tree is the axis of the nine or so realms in their cosmology, so I'm going kind of spacey with this one. I'm aware of the big area of negative space, some stellar nebula cloudy type stuff is going over there later.

Used a contest Suffocation was running to motivate myself to do something. It was to make an image based around their song Images of Purgatory. I was going off of the historical idea of purgatory as a big fat crucible and liked the idea of this weird perspective, though I didn't pull it off very well or use any reference. I'll be uploading better work soon.

Update: Alright heres a few alternatey versions of where this ended up, at least for now.

This was the next stage, I was playing around with the colored lighting but it lacks any local color.

Local Color and removed the closer fire.

Desaturated and the local color knocked back some. Iduno I'm still playing with it.

I've got a new animation under way, it should be done in a week or so. I have a bunch of limitlessly good ideas for some bullcrap to do but it's all stuff that will have to wait until I get a source of income. I'm putting off working at Subway as hard as I can. It will entail neutering my powerful Samson beard and nobody wants that.

Alright heres some pictures from the Senior show opening night. I've got around forty pictures of the individual pieces I'm working on reducing for efficient internet tube travel. I fabricated the entire thing with the exception of the dome part of the helmet. I outsourced that to this guy I found on the internet who sent me the halves separately and I welded them together and stuck the horn holdy parts and face piece on. Everything else was cold formed using a hammer, some anvil stakes, and a chisel. Theres also about eighty-four separate myths or mythological figures represented on the armor itself. I painted it all using some black spray paint with a hammered metal effect and once that was all dry I drew the images on using gold and silver paint pens from Home Depot. The awesome chair I'm sitting in I borrowed from an antique store. If you have any questions about anything email me at clossonill@gmail.com.

Heres the animation that was playing behind me, compressed for the tubez.

I did the animation by animating each scene in Flash, exporting them each as an .avi and syncing them up in After Effects. I'm working on actually recording at least the mandolin part, and possibly the bass if I can get my hands on one. There will also be a slightly longer version of it soon, I had to kind of cut the animation short because I ran out of time.

Greetings, I figured this would be a good move to get one of these and try and keep it updated. I'll be throwing all the images I can gather of my thesis up here pretty soon. I'm also trying to figure out a good way to compress the animation enough to make it downloadable and not eat all my bandwidth but still high quality enough to not look like garbage.
